Press and Protocol Unit

The Unit has the responsibility of handling every aspect of Press related activities of the Commission.  By the establishment, it maintain, project and publicise the programmes of the Commission.  It liaises with various media houses and maintain a good relationship with the press

 
Functions
  1. Organizing press Conferences, press interviews and Annual Ministerial Press briefing in conjunction with the Federal Ministry of Information and Communication;
  2. It also issues press invitations, Press Releases and the placement of Adverts, Promos, Jingles and announcements in the mass media for the Commission;
  3. Production of an in–house Bulletin Periodicals designed to publicize the activities of the Commission;
  4. The Unit also maintains an up–to–date Photo news board in the Commission;
  5. The Unit also ensures video coverage of the relevant activities of the Commission;
  6. Keeping a video library for future reference and documentation at all times;
  7. Taking photos of relevant activities of the Commission. 
  8. Making daily Press cuttings and clippings of print media reports of activities of the Commission;

 

Current Activities of the Unit

The Unit is carrying out the following activities:

  1. Advise the Commission on vital issues relating to press and media related matters.;
  2. Preventing the publication of any negative news concerning the Commission;
  3. Create a good conducive atmosphere within the various media houses, members of the public with the Commission;
  4. The unit has successfully given adequate publicity to various activities and interviews embanked upon by the Commission both within and outside the Commission in both print and the electronic media;
