Administrative Structure of the Commission

The Act which established the Commission provides for a Chairman who shall be the Chief Executive with the following members:

     
Three (3) full time Commissioners,  
Y
f The Permanent Secretary of Office of Establishments and Management Services;  
Y
f The Permanent Secretary of Federal Ministry of Labour & Productivity;  
Y
f A representative of the Nigerian Employer’s Consultative Association;  
Y
f A representative of the Nigerian Labour Congress &  
Y
f Four other persons of proven integrity and relevant expertise.   


The Chairman and other members are appointed by the President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.  The tenure of office of a member of the Commission is five years.

The Commission is to have a Secretary in the rank of a Permanent Secretary whose responsibilities, among others, is to assist the Chairman in the general administration of the Commission.  The Secretary to the Commission is the Accounting officer of the Commission.
